From its Social Investment Plan, in order to promote the welfare of its surrounding communities and under its Governance for Development pillar, Drummond Ltd. has joined by delivering sports equipment, the “Sports, Physical and Recreational Strategy” led by the Mayor’s Office of Ciénaga, aligned with its Municipal Development Plan.
“For Drummond, getting on track with the institutional framework is the task. In this case, the support with sports equipment corresponds to the pillar of Governance for Development and the strategic line of promotion for social welfare, and what better promotion than taking sports to every corner of Ciénaga, we are very pleased”, said Press Release Alvaro Daza Pinedo, senior community relations supervisor for Magdalena, during the delivery of the sports equipment.
Thus, 50 types of elements were delivered to the municipality to expand coverage to more than 2,000 children who are currently part of the program, which promotes group and individual disciplines.
Among the items provided by Drummond were: soccer balls, volleyballs, baseball bats, baseballs and bases, a catcher’s set, plates, cones, whistles, stopwatches, demarcation plates, agility ladders, among other tools necessary for the coordination and training of the children and young people who are part of the strategy.
For his part, the mayor of Ciénaga, Luis Fernández Quinto, emphasized the importance of continuing to expand the coverage of this program to achieve a more social Ciénaga: “We thank Drummond for the support they are giving to the Sports, Physical and Recreational Strategy of the municipality of Ciénaga with the provision and donation of products (…) that will allow us to make further progress. This allows, then, through Drummond, with the support they have been giving us, that not only 2,000, but many more children can receive this wonderful contribution that makes the strategy reach more and more corners of the world.
Through these actions, Drummond Ltd. seeks to provide the tools to empower more young people to practice sports, in addition to continuing to promote values that contribute to the strengthening of the social fabric and the integral formation of the communities near its areas of influence.
