La Loma, June 3 of 2025

With the aim of contributing to the strengthening of the cultural identity of the department of Cesar, Drummond Ltd. is promoting the project “Footprints of the Master with Drummond.” a commitment to local talent and the musical roots of the region, led by the renowned accordionist and King of Vallenato Kings, Gonzalo “El Cocha” Molina.
Thanks to this initiative, 20 children and young people from the village of La Loma, in the municipality of El Paso, are learning to play the accordion, combining the use of technological tools with the traditional teaching of this representative instrument of vallenato folklore.

“With ‘Footprints of the Master with Drummond’ we seek to cultivate in children and young people the love for our roots and traditions. Through musical training, the project reinforces cultural identity and creates significant opportunities for the personal and artistic growth of each participant,” said Amalí Blanco Bohórquez, coordinator of corporate social responsibility projects at Drummond Ltd.

Thanks to the support of Comfacesar, which has provided its facilities for the training days, and the leadership of the “El Cocha” Molina Foundation, the project has made significant progress in a short time.
“Thanks to the support of Drummond and Comfacesar, Huellas del Maestro has been possible. I am pleased to see how much the children have learned in just one month. It reminds me of when I started, without as many tools as they have today to learn to play the accordion. I am sure that in a short time they will be great accordionists,” he said.
The positive impact of this initiative has also been valued by the families of the participants: “Drummond is and has been a fundamental part of this process, providing the guarantees so that the dream of many children has come true, especially in the cultural sphere,” said Isaac Hernández Morales, father.
This type of project is part of the mining company’s strategic vision, reflecting its commitment to contribute to the integral development of the communities where it operates.
Juan Vélez Mercado, one of the children participating in the project, expressed with enthusiasm: “Thanks to ‘Huellas del Maestro con Drummond’ I am happy to learn to play the accordion.”
The company will continue to revalidate its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote art, music and the preservation of the cultural traditions of the region.
