Drummond Ltd., in company with the Departmental Ethno-Educational Institution of Tucurinca and the Municipal Administration of Zona Bananera, Magdalena, presented the delivery of the perimeter enclosure of the Nueva Esperanza campus, which has positively impacted on the safety, well-being and educational quality of more than 1600 students of this region.
During the official presentation of the enclosure, Álvaro Daza Pinedo, senior supervisor of community relations and government emphasized: “For Drummond, contributing to community development is critical, and education is one of our pillars. We are happy to know that this infrastructure will generate well-being and protection for students.”
On this occasion, Drummond contributed the building materials and the municipal mayor’s office the labor. “This is an articulated work between a private company, in this case Drummond, and the public administration. Today it is reflected in work that will benefit our children. What is important is that we continue to believe that education is the foundation of the transformation of the peoples,” said Mayor Clareth Olaya Jimenez.
The good handling of the materials by the educational institution, headed by its dean, Carmen García Jiménez, made it possible to complete the additional construction of three classrooms to expand student coverage and deliver the furniture of the computer room. This represents an improvement in learning spaces, with more dignified, functional environments adapted to current pedagogical needs.

The dean of the educational institution stated: “This has been a dream come true! We have long called for this enclosure; today, thanks to the joint effort, we have it. The safety of our students improves and that fills us with happiness.”
The construction of 380.44 linear meters of perimeter enclosure allowed the delimitation and protection of the school area, control access, prevent risks, and ensure a safer environment for children and young people receiving training in this campus. In this way, the new infrastructure becomes a barrier of protection against possible external incursions, theft and situations that may violate the integrity of the educational community.
Parents, students, teachers, and local leaders actively participated throughout the process, providing support through oversight and additional labor for classroom interventions. From its relationship with the communities Drummond will continue to contribute to the improvement of suitable spaces and conditions that facilitate quality education.
