In order to strengthen the cultural expressions of the communities where it operates, and to promote the integral development of children and young people, Drummond Energy, Inc. delivered costumes and musical instruments to the Kirama children’s and youth dance group, from the township of Boquerón, municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
This is part of the cultural strengthening project contemplated as part of the voluntary social investment related to the B0101-ADX exploratory gas well.
Through its HSE and Communities Department, Drummond Energy identified, together with the community, the needs of the Kirama folkloric group, consolidating a complete endowment that includes typical costumes for cumbia, fandango, son de negros, sweaters, banners, makeup, as well as microphones, speakers, makeup, mirrors, traditional instruments such as tamboras, llamadores, gouaches, flute and bagpipes, among other elements for the presentations of the dance group.
“We were in the township of Boquerón delivering the costumes, supplies and implements required for the operation of the Kirama dance group, in order to strengthen social and cultural practices, aligned with the municipal development plan of La Jagua de Ibirico,” said Noreida Solano, social supervisor of Drummond Energy.

This initiative reflects Drummond Energy’s commitment to sustainability, promoting social development, and promoting activities that strengthen the identity of local communities. Under its principles of social responsibility, community participation and sustainability, the company seeks to generate a positive impact beyond its operations, promoting spaces for inclusion, training and artistic expression for new generations.

“I thank Drummond Energy for the endowment they have given us today, which will help us better represent the folklore of our township of Boquerón,” said Karima Ospino, coordinator of the Kirama dance group.

On the other hand, Marticela Salaz Salas, a member of the community, stated: “We are very grateful to Drummond Energy because we received the endowment for the dance children. It is the first company that looks at us and that looks at the children. A child in dance is a child who moves away from vice, and that is what we are needing in the township of Boquerón.”
With actions like this, Drummond Energy reaffirms its commitment to work hand in hand with communities in the construction of a sustainable present and future, where the culture, talent and roots of the communities are valued and supported as pillars of development and social fabric.
