To celebrate Journalist Day, Drummond Ltd. welcomed a group of journalists from Cesar and Magdalena at its port operations, where they were able to closely observe the coal gathering and export process, as well as the responsible management that the company carries out as part of its commitment to mining with #PositiveImpact.
During their tour of Drummond Port, they observed the different stages of the operation, highlighting the measures implemented to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable management, thus reaffirming the company’s commitment to transparency and sustainability in the sector.
The day also included a training session in which Diego Santos Caballero, a digital journalist, and María Camila González, co-founder of ‘Economía para la pipol’, offered talks related to new practices and tools for communication. In this meeting, journalists from Magdalena expanded their knowledge about the challenges of journalism in the digital age.
“We are very grateful to the journalists who accepted the invitation in the context of this celebration. For Drummond, maintaining a constant and close communication with the media in the area of influence, providing access to firsthand information about our operations and the positive impact we seek to generate are essential elements,” said Pablo Urrutia, vice president of public affairs and communications.
With this visit, Drummond Ltd. sought to present how its port operations work, from the reception of coal transported by trains from Cesar to its export process.
During the tour, Yesenia Cabrera, a journalist from Magdalena, expressed: “We appreciate these spaces for learning and the connection between journalists from Cesar and Magdalena. This tour has been very valuable, as it allows us to see firsthand how Drummond develops its operation and the impact it generates in its communities.”
Through these types of encounters, the company also strengthens close and transparent communications with journalists in the area of influence where it operates, promoting access to first-hand information about its work.
