As part of its social and environmental commitment, Drummond Ltd. socialized the results of the actions developed during the execution and implementation of the Environmental Management Plans in its three mining projects in Cesar, for the period between September 2023 and September 2024. This was done through dialogue sessions with the communities and local authorities of the municipalities of Agust铆n Codazzi, Becerril, La Jagua de Ibirico, La Loma (El Paso) and Chiriguan谩, in Cesar.

“We are grateful for the presence of the people who attended the invitation to participate in these socializations, where we had the opportunity to give direct answers to the doubts and concerns expressed by the attendees. This allows us to strengthen our relationships with all stakeholders in our area of influence in Cesar,” commented Mario Garc铆a Collante, environmental management and compliance supervisor for Drummond Ltd.

“We thank Drummond Ltd. for sharing with us the results of its environmental management and social responsibility plan. We had the opportunity to see first-hand all the actions that are being carried out for the benefit of the community and the environment,” said Jainer Salazar De Armas, president of Asojuntas of the municipality of Chiriguan谩, Cesar.

During the socializations, the results of the execution of the company’s environmental commitment were shared, presenting its different programs and consolidated figures for the aforementioned period, reaffirming its commitment to prevent, mitigate, correct and compensate the impacts of its operations.

“It is of vital importance for us, as a municipality, to know the actions being carried out by Drummond Ltd. on environmental issues, especially in relation to compensation and solid waste management. These are matters of great relevance. and we take them as an example to reflect and improve the way we manage them today at the national level, within the framework of the ‘Zero Waste’ strategy,” said Julio Mart铆nez Daza, Planning Secretary for Agust铆n Codazzi.

The meetings were attended by leaders of the Environmental, Human Resources, Materials, Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Relations areas, who socialized the activities they carry out for the integral development of the region.

The dynamics of the socializations included a fair, where Drummond Ltd. contractors had stands and shared their processes and results in the framework of mining operations, as well as a point to provide information on the company’s Citizen Attention System, a mechanism designed to facilitate the relationship with its different stakeholders through the channels that comprise it.

Each socialization concluded with a space for questions and answers, clarifying doubts and addressing concerns of the attendees on various topics, such as support for social works, environmental procedures and contracting processes, among others.

“I had the opportunity to attend the socialization of Drummond’s Environmental Management Plan and we evidenced that they have been moving forward with all the environmental and social processes of the municipalities in their area of influence. As an entrepreneur I have benefited from the company’s programs. Thank you very much Drummond,” said Ver贸nica Zuleta Vega, an entrepreneur from La Jagua de Ibirico.
