Ratifying its social commitment to contribute to the generation of safe environments and adequate spaces for the learning process of children and young people in the region, Drummond Ltd. delivered a new classroom to the Villa Matilde Educational Center, located in the village of La Guajirita, municipality of Becerril, Cesar.

This initiative is part of the investment line of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy called “Educational Route for Transition”, which seeks to transform school spaces into environments that favor the learning and well-being of students.

The new classroom, which will benefit about 90 students, will expand the school capacity of this educational center, promoting a more suitable environment for teaching.

This is the second intervention Drummond has carried out at this educational institution. The first, conducted in 2023, included the construction of two classrooms, a kitchen-dining area, and a restroom facility, marking a significant transformation in the school’s conditions.

“I am very grateful to Drummond and the Mayor’s Office for contributing to the growth of educational institutions and improving the quality of education for our students. We are sure that, thanks to this, our students will be able to have better environments to study,” said Yalina Molina Chinchilla, a teacher at the Villa Matilde Educational Center, El Centro school.

This delivery reinforces Drummond’s commitment to the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal “Quality Education”, demonstrating that strengthening school infrastructure is key to promoting the comprehensive education of children and young people in the region.
