As part of its commitment to contribute to the strengthening of education in its areas of influence, Drummond Ltd., together with the Mayor’s Office of Agustín Codazzi, socialized three projects for the construction and improvement of educational infrastructure to be implemented in the different schools of the Luis Giraldo Educational Institution, located in the village of Casacará.
The activity was attended by the mayor of the municipality, Hernán Baquero Rodríguez; the planning secretary, Julio Martínez Daza; representatives of the community, parents and students of the institution that will benefit from the project.
“These projects are part of our social responsibility strategy and reflect our commitment to education and the well-being of communities. We seek to provide a suitable environment that favors the learning and development of our young people,” said Javier Galeano, community relations coordinator for Drummond Ltd.
The projects include the construction of a kitchen-dining room and delivery of furniture for the institution’s main building, the construction of a kitchen and enclosure for the General Santander building, and the construction of a kitchen for the María Reina building. The mining company will contribute more than 750 million pesos.
“Today we are very pleased with this alliance that has been developing between Drummond, the municipal administration and the community in general. This work will provide quality education and infrastructure improvements,” said Hernán Baquero Rodríguez, mayor of Agustín Codazzi.
With these projects, Drummond not only seeks to improve the educational infrastructure, but also to promote the integral development of the students, who will benefit from a more appropriate and stimulating learning environment, thus contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality Education.
