Ratifying its commitment to the development of safe and preventive operations, Drummond Ltd. participated in the XVII Congress on Occupational Safety and Health, held at the Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina, Valledupar, highlighting its performance in the prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases.

XVI Industrial Safety Fair.

The Occupational Safety and Health Committee of the department of Cesar and the Local Committee of the municipality of Valledupar organized the Congress. It was aimed at employers, employees, union organizations, associations, academia, students, ARL and EPS, Joint Occupational Safety and Health Committees, Safety Overseers and Labor Coexistence Committees of the twenty-five municipalities of the department of Cesar.

During the Congress, Dr. José Guerra Áñez, Occupational Health Manager of Drummond Ltd., received recognition for his outstanding work in the Sectional and Local Occupational Health and Safety Committees of the department of Cesar.

The presentations led by Drummond Ltd. reaffirmed the company’s commitment to a productive and preventive mining operation, socializing its good practices in occupational health and safety. Experiences in the implementation of Handheld technologies for the estimation of hygienic risks were also shared, as well as the Integrated Chemical Risk Management Program, as a key tool for industrial hygiene.

“At this event we discussed new technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence for the characterization of hygiene risks in work environments, which is of special interest to leaders in the occupational health sector,” added Luis Guillermo Araque Muñoz, occupational hygiene advisor for Drummond Ltd.

Within the framework of the Congress, the XVI Industrial Safety Fair was held, where companies from the sector exhibited their products and services, allowing the construction of alliances and the strengthening of relationships that contribute to the generation of favorable and healthy economic environments in the department of Cesar.
