Drummond Ltd. strengthens the Boquerón community with technical programs

In compliance with the Socioeconomic Management Plan (PMS), Drummond Ltd., through Uparsistem, graduated more than 100 students from the community of Boquerón, located in the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico in the department of Cesar, in technical labor skills programs in areas such as occupational safety, nursing assistant, administrative assistant, welding and civil works officer.

The objective of these theoretical and practical programs is to contribute to the growth of job opportunities that promote equity and economic growth in the region, closing gaps that improve the quality of life and promote a more prosperous future.

“We are convinced that education is a vehicle for the transformation of the social fabric. With these new graduates we have provided human capital for the competitiveness of our mining corridor and for the department of Cesar,” said Wisam Faraj Obregón, senior resettlement supervisor for Drummond Ltd.

During the graduation ceremony, teachers, students, parents, and community leaders expressed their gratitude and satisfaction for the achievement.

“I feel grateful and happy to have obtained this achievement. Thanks to Drummond and Uparsistem for giving us the opportunity to make a dream come true,” said Miller Lopez Ospina, a graduate student.
