*With this event, Drummond Ltd. promotes the progress of the communities in its area of influence located in the municipalities where its coal exploitation, exploration, and export operations are carried out.
With the objective of continuing its commitment to education, Drummond Ltd. awarded 18 new scholarships in 2024 to high school graduates with academic excellence from official educational institutions in the municipalities belonging to its mining, railroad, and port areas of influence in the departments of Cesar and Magdalena.
It is worth mentioning that since 2006 Drummond has led this project, year after year, with the goal of contributing to the dream of young people with limited resources who wish to become professionals, and with these awardees, we now have 227. Therefore, the winners of the Drummond scholarship will be able to choose the university degree they are passionate about, and they will also receive a monthly living allowance, in addition to psychosocial support from the company that will help them throughout the academic process.
The scholarship awarding events were be held in the capital cities of the departments of Cesar and Magdalena; on January 30 at the Hotel Sicarare, in Valledupar, and on January 31 at the Hotel Estelar Santamar in Santa Marta.
With this program, Drummond recognizes education as a transformational axis and aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of quality education.
