The ‘2024 Brigadiers Meeting’ was held at Drummond Ltd.’s port facilities, a day of learning and training focused on strengthening excellence in emergency response. More than 90 brigade members participated in the activity, including contractors, Drummond, and ARL Bolívar personnel, the latter in charge of guiding and supervising the training.
Throughout the event, five essential emergency response topics were developed and reinforced: first aid, fire extinguisher handling, fire control, vehicle rescue, confined space rescue, and heights. Thus, the participants highlighted the usefulness of the sessions and the practical approach of each of the exercises.
“You learn a lot because you share experiences from other colleagues, from other companies, people who have much more knowledge than we do. All that we have learned here can definitely be applied in our company, making our colleagues aware of the importance of safety,” said Rubén Darío Padilla López, an electrical service technician from Relianz, who attended as a brigade member of the contractor company.
The interaction between Drummond’s contractor brigadiers, trainers, and emergency leaders facilitated a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. On this occasion, Drummond Ltd. brigadiers participated as safety observers, and complemented with their contributions and experience the knowledge that was imparted throughout the activity.
“Thanks to all the people who made this event possible, for their broad participation, but above all thanks for reinforcing that industrial safety and safety prevention are a natural function of Drummond Ltd.”, emphasized Luis Fernando Perez Jaramillo, senior industrial safety supervisor at Drummond Port.
The company will continue to organize activities aligned with the interdependent safety and wellbeing culture for all employees and other stakeholders in all its projects, through which it reaffirms its leadership in the implementation of safe measures and its commitment to the constant training of its employees and collaborators.
