As part of its commitment to contribute to social development and collective well-being, Drummond delivered a community hall in the Ojo de Agua district, located in the municipality of Chiriguaná, Cesar.
“This project was born as a response to the request of the presidents of the community action boards, where the delivery of this community hall was agreed upon in order to provide the community with adequate spaces for their moments of social recreation and healthy coexistence. At Drummond, we believe it is important to close social gaps and encourage citizen participation in the region,” said Yilda Tatiana Pineda, senior supervisor of community relations and governance at Drummond Ltd.
With this project, the mining company benefits more than 250 residents of the village who did not have an adequate space for their social life.
“We are very grateful to Drummond for this work of great social impact that we have really needed for a long time. And I want to say that we are here as good neighbors to continue with this task,” said Armando Toscano Torres, community leader of the Ojo de Agua community.
The project, which required an investment of more than 190 million pesos, includes an auditorium, an administrative office, sanitary facilities, a patio with enclosure, furniture, technological resources, and air conditioning.
With these contributions, Drummond demonstrates its influence in promoting social development in the region.
