Drummond Ltd. continues to demonstrate its commitment to the environment through the preservation of wildlife. Recently, in its conservation areas, 72 morrocoy turtles, 25 babillas, 5 canaries, 2 mountain blackbirds, 2 ocelots, 2 boas, 1 owl, 1 tomb mare, and 1 papayero were released, delivered by the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cesar, Corpocesar.
“We conduct these releases in Drummond’s territories because we know the characteristics of their areas, where we are sure that these species are going to reproduce and have good conservation,” said Marino Zuleta, Corpocesar veterinarian.

The releases were made at El Descanso mine, located in the company’s mining operations in Cesar, which has the appropriate characteristics to protect the life of wild animals in their natural habitat. In this way, the species will be able to reproduce and have optimal development.
“Once again we received a group of wildlife individuals from the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cesar. With this we confirm that our conservation areas are suitable habitats to protect the lives of animals,” stressed Fray Orozco, senior supervisor of environmental management at Drummond Ltd.
It should be noted that Drummond has aligned its environmental policy with the United Nations´ Sustainable Development Objetives agenda, through its objective number 15, “Life of Terrestrial Ecosystems”, thus working to contribute to environmental sustainability.
The company will continue to make strategic alliances that allow the development of this type of actions that ratify its commitment to the protection and conservation of fauna and flora.
