As a result of the audit carried out by the international certification body LRQA in February of this year, Drummond Ltd. has received ISO 14001:2015 recertification for an additional three years, applicable to the El Descanso, El Corozo, and La Loma projects in Cesar and Puerto Drummond in Magdalena.
The recertification confirms Drummond Ltd.’s commitment to maintaining an environmental management system that enables it to act with environmental responsibility to prevent, mitigate, correct, and compensate the environmental impacts of its operations.
“Drummond has achieved this certification through the commitment of its senior management, employees, and contractors. This has been a group effort that has strengthened the company’s environmental culture over the years, allowing for a systematic compliance with the environmental standards established for properly managing the impacts of Drummond’s activities and processes in its mining and port operations,” emphasized Juan Duran Mejia, environmental management supervisor at Drummond.
The ISO 14001:2015 standard establishes a reference framework and requirements for proper implementation and operation of an environmental management system that prioritizes environmental protection, risk reduction, compliance with legal requirements, continuous improvement, and optimization of environmental performance and effective communication of environmental information.
This confirms Drummond’s commitment to responsible operations, in which protecting and conserving natural resources is a fundamental part of its sustainability strategy.
